What happened in the game between India and Australia in the final of the World Cup 2023
India were asked to bat first and they didn’t have a great start as Shubman Gill (4) was back in the hut early. However, skipper Rohit Sharma (47) continued his aggressive approach and gave his team a blistering start yet again. But he lost his wicket in the 10th over and things became worse for India when just after his wicket Shreyas Iyer (4) fell too.
After that, Virat Kohli (54) chipped in along with KL Rahul (66). They tried to get going the run dried up in the middle and they couldn’t score runs freely.
Somehow, India managed 240 runs on the board. Bowlers raised the hopes of Indian fans when they left Australia tottering at 47/3. But after that, nothing went their way. Travis Head (137) blasted a brutal century whereas Marnus Labuschagne (58*) supported him well as Australia completed a comfortable 6-wicket victory at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad
