Hardik Pandya Set For Mumbai Indians Comeback? Historic IPL Trade On Cards: Reports

Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya has been in the talks for the last few days. Ever since the trade window of the Indian Premier League (IPL) opened, the all-rounder has become the hot soup and there have been a lot of rumors floating around his name.

Various media reports have suggested that Hardik Pandya is likely to be traded to Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. The reports suggested that he’s likely to be swapped with either Rohit Sharma or Jofra Archer. Most likely it’ll be a fast bowler because has been struggling with fitness.

It was also learned the Mumbai Indians are keen to bring him so that he can take up the captaincy baton. The reports added that team management wants him to play as a player for one season before taking on the baton from Rohit Sharma. Although, there’s no confirmation about the same but a source has confirmed slight development.

The source confirmed that talks related to Hardik Pandya moving to Mumbai Indians are true. He said that he can’t confirm whether the all-rounder is moving to five-time champions because the deal is yet to be signed. Speaking to PTI, he explained:

“Yes, I can confirm that there has been talks of Hardik going to MI. There remains a chance that he might switch sides but at this moment, nothing more can be confirmed as of now as the deal is yet to be signed.”

Also, a BCCI source told TOI that there are growing differences between Hardik Pandya and the GT management. MI already have stars like Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan in the squad, but they are reportedly not impressed with the duo’s leadership skills.

“Hardik has been in talks with Mumbai Indians since the last IPL got over. Hardik and MI reached the decision a couple of months before the World Cup. The Titans management and Hardik have had growing differences. It’s up to the two franchises to firm up the modalities and formalize the deal. An announcement will be made only after that,” a BCCI source told TOI.

The confirmation related to Hardik Pandya moving to Mumbai Indians will be announced on the 26th when the trade window closes. If Rohit Sharma moves to Gujarat Titans it’ll set the world cricket on fire. The Indian captain has guided MI to five titles.
